Honor, a prominent player in the foldable smartphone market, has expanded its portfolio with the introduction of the Magic V Flip. This marks the brand’s first venture into the clamshell foldable category, building on the success of its Magic V series. Notably, the Magic V Flip includes a luxurious variant designed in collaboration with international fashion icon Jimmy Choo. Both models stand out with their impressive specifications and stylish designs.
The Honor Magic V Flip’s 4-inch LTPO OLED cover screen boasts a resolution of 1,092 x 1,200 pixels, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and up to 1,600 nits peak brightness. This cover screen can efficiently split content into a 16:9 mode for better scaling and supports horizontal split-screen for video playback with a control panel. It also includes various Always on Display (AoD) options and allows running full-screen apps directly on the cover display. The main display is equally impressive with a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED panel, featuring FHD+ resolution, a 21:9 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. This screen achieves a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, covers 92% of the BT.2020 color space, and is Dolby Vision certified.
In terms of build, the Magic V Flip folds completely flat, measuring 14.89mm when closed and 7.5mm when unfolded. It boasts a durable Luban Hinge with a five-star SGS certification and features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device utilises a proprietary hinge mechanism developed by Honor, incorporating lightweight steel foil components and an aluminium frame.

The camera system includes a 50MP Sony IMX906 main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50MP Sony IMX816 front-facing camera, all capable of 4K video recording. The phone is equipped with a 4800mAh battery, offering enough power for a full day’s use. It supports 66W fast charging, enabling a 45% charge in just 15 minutes and a full charge within 42 minutes.
